Faith-Based Counseling for Church Members

״Many people within our church communities carry emotional burdens quietly — anxiety, trauma, grief, or overwhelming stress. While prayer and spiritual guidance are powerful, there are times when professional counseling can provide additional support and healing.״

Dr. Melanie Joyce Coates, EdD, LCPC

I am a licensed therapist with doctoral training in Community Care and Counseling and specialized education in trauma-informed care. My work centers on supporting women who are navigating anxiety, healing from past trauma, and walking through significant life transitions.

For those who desire it, faith can be thoughtfully integrated into the counseling process alongside mindfulness and principles that support emotional and spiritual renewal. I often remind the women I work with that “Transformed thinking gives birth to complete change.” As the mind begins to renew, new possibilities for peace, clarity, and healing begin to unfold.

My goal is to create an OASIS — Open And Safe InSide — a space where women can breathe, reflect, and begin the sacred work of healing.
